The Beautification Awards Luncheon, held at the Best Western Plus on Thursday,
21 June 2018 was
masterfully organized and executed by the V.P. of the Madison Beautification
and Tree Board, Amber Braman with the assistance from Board Member Liz Smith, a
certified Arborist. The mission of the
Madison Beautification and Tree Board is to enhance the quality of life in
Madison through beautification and environmentally friendly practices.
For 2018, 18 properties scored a maximum score of 100, 84
properties scored between 95 to 99 by a team of Master Gardener Judges, and 50
Properties maintained their Beautification Award eligibility for a minimum of
five years.
This year, 2 exceptional properties took home the Best in
Show Award; The Catbird Seat and Ted’s BBQ.
Both properties show exemplary pride and effort to make their properties
stand out to the judges and the Board; therefore, the MBTB decided to present
both with the award.
The awards were presented to the recipients by City
Councilman Gerald Clark, District 6, and City Administrator Marc Jacobsen. The event was MC’ed by MBTB President Mike
Keenan.
The MBTB would like to thank all those that participate in
“Keeping Madison Beautiful” and look forward to even more participation at next
year’s event. Additionally, MBTB would
like to invite everyone to come out to the Madison Chamber of Commerce
Business Expo and Kid’s Day on 28 July 2018 to meet the Board and see what you
can do to “Keep Madison Beautiful”.
